

PAVIA, ILOILO — In celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, the Municipal Tourism and Development Office, Human Resource Management Office, and all 18 barangays of Pavia came together for the festive and spirited “Barangay Laro ng Lahi.”



The event featured traditional Filipino games such as kadang-kadang, luksong sako, butungay lubid, and palo sebo, promoting camaraderie, unity, and a deep sense of cultural pride among Pavianhons.



Barangays that stood out in each category were:
•Kadang-Kadang: 1st – Brgy. Pal-agon, 2nd – Brgy. Amparo, 3rd – Brgy. Ungka I
•Luksong Sako: 1st – Brgy. Cabugao Norte, 2nd – Brgy. Pal-agon, 3rd – Brgy. Purok 4
•Butungay Lubid: 1st – Brgy. Jibao-an, 2nd – Brgy. Purok 1, 3rd – Brgy. Balabag
•Palo Sebo: 1st – Brgy. Tigum, 2nd – Brgy. Amparo, 3rd – Brgy. Pal-agon


More than just a celebration of independence, the event was a vibrant showcase of community spirit and Pavia’s continued commitment to honoring the legacy of Filipino heroes through unity and shared tradition.
