The Municipal Tourism and Development Office (MTDO) spearheaded a Year-End Learning Visit for hardworking and committed Barangay Kagawads who chair the Committee on Tourism, Arts, Culture and History in their respective barangays to four museums: The National Museum of the Philippines – Iloilo, Museo Iloilo, the Museum Philippine Maritime History and the Museum of Philippine Economic History. The group also enjoyed a bonus trip Molo Mansion before proceeding to a private beach resort for the year-end forum, evaluation and planning.
The past learning visits brought the participants to the cool mountains of Bucari in the Municipality of Leon, the picturesque islands and lush gardens of the Municipality of Ajuy, the vibrant Municipality of Tigbauan, the Municipality of Miag-ao which is home to a UNESCO world heritage site and the sough-after hablon fabric, and the charming Municipality of San Joaquin where nature and history captivate every visitor. The experience gained from these visits is hoped to stir interest, inspire the imagination and drive the participants into replicating the best practices in their areas of influence.
