Target Aimed Towards the Seal /2023 SGLG National Validation


The Local Government of Pavia under the leadership of Mayor Luigi Gorriceta played host in the conduct of the National Validation of Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2023 on October 4, 2023 at the Executive Hall, Pavia Municipal Building.

Municipal Officials and Employees welcomed the SGLG Validation Team headed by Dir. Ariel O. Iglesia, CESO III, Regional Director, DILG Region IV-A and Ms. Joyce A. Saavedra, LGOO V, LGMES Chief, DILG-Laguna.

The validation included document review, interview with Department Heads and Punong Barangays, and onsite inspection.

The result of the national validation will be presented to the Council of Good Local Governance, for approval and finalization of the official list of 2023 SGLG Passers.

The SGLG national validation is conducted in LGUs that have passed the regional level of validation or are deemed as potential passers of the Seal. It is an award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program for all local government units to continually progress and improve their performance.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is the most prestigious award conferred by the Department of Interior and Local Government to LGUs in recognition of their programs, policies, and performance, particularly in 10 governance areas namely: Financial Administration & Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection & Sensitivity; Safety, Peace and Order; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness & Competitiveness; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts; and Youth Development.

DILG Iloilo Provincial Director Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista, CESO V, Atty. Dave Robert Capada, LGOO V-DILG Iloilo, Mrs. Ma. Fatima R. Daiz, LGOO VII, Cluster Head-DILG Iloilo Province and Ma’am Ma. Socorro Joy Garcia, MLGOO were also present to show their support to the Municipality of Pavia.
