Last June 7, 2024, the Pavia Municipal Health Office in coordination with the Department of Health, Iloilo Provincial Health Office, and Western Visayas Medical Center conducted an RF-RHD Screening using Philips Lumify at Barangay Aganan.
One hundred forty-nine (149) school children ages 5-15 years old participated in the said screening. Out of the 149, 10 tested positive for echo findings (6.7%), underscoring the significance of early detection and intervention in rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.
WVMC RF RHD Team deployed were Dr. Mae C. Mae Dagooc . Dr. James C. Catoto Dr. Eleonor Portigo, Dr. Mylah Palabrica Alfeche, Ms Airen Blanco, and Aura Dew Bayag- Escanlar together with Pavia MH Officer Dr. Carleone Borda and the Pavia RHU Personnel.
