To gain insights from Pandac Elementary School’s effective learning practices in reading and writing, the Schools Division Office of Zambales, particularly Schools Division Superintendent William Roderic R. Fallorin, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Alberto M. Ochengco Jr., and Zambales personnel, accompanied by Dr. Nestor Paul M. Pingil, Chief, Curriculum and Implementation Division, from the Schools Division Office of Iloilo, initiated a literacy benchmarking visit on June 26, 2026.

Before the visit to Pandac Elementary School, the School Division Office of Zambales also attended a benchmarking visit and sharing of best practices program at the Schools Division Office of Iloilo’s executive room to present the actions, overview of OGSL training packages, literacy validation, and sharing about reading links, and literacy implementation plans of Iloilo.

The Schools Division Office of Zambales was welcomed by the Public Schools District Supervisor of Pavia, Dr. Melanie Villalon, Pandac School Principal, Sir Ruben B. Surriga, and Pandac barangay officials, headed by Punong Barangay Pinky P. Siason.

During the visit, Dr. Villalon and Sir Surriga presented the achievements of the Reading Comprehension Program, underscoring that its success was driven by the collaborative partnership among schools, educators, and the Local Government Unit of Pavia under the leadership of Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta.

Additionally, the benchmarking activity functioned as a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing the strengths and challenges of programs, and examining strategies that aid learners’ ongoing comprehension skills development.
