Wounded Pavia police officer injured during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Anilao, Pavia, Iloilo on January 22, 2026 received formal recognition from Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) following the incident that led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified as John Jun Jingco.
PBGEN Josefino D Ligan, Regional Director of PRO6, personally presented the award to the police personnel in acknowledgment of his actions during the operation conducted under Republic Act 9165.
During the same visit, PBGEN Ligan cited the role of Mayor Laurence Anthony “Luigi” G. Gorriceta in extending financial and medical assistance that supported the officer’s treatment and recovery.
In addition, the PRO6 chief highlighted the local government’s sustained logistical support to the Pavia Municipal Police Station, noting the coordination between the municipal government and the Philippine National Police in law enforcement operations.
The recognition activity underscored ongoing cooperation between the Pavia local government unit and PRO6 in addressing illegal drug activities and maintaining public safety in the municipality.
