Pista sa Pavia 2026 Kicks Off with Grand Parade, Promotes Unity, Local Enterprise

Pista sa Pavia 2026 officially opened on April 24 with a grand parade and opening program, marking the start of more than a week of activities celebrating the town’s culture, unity, and local industry.

The opening parade gathered municipal employees, punong barangays, barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials from 18 barangays, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, representatives from the academe, students, the business sector, and candidates of the Carabao Carroza Festival Queen Search.

Participants filled the streets with coordinated displays, music, and performances that reflected community pride and participation across various sectors in the municipality.

The opening program followed, beginning with an invocation led by Rev. Fr. Jose Gerardo Clasico Nufable and attended by key officials including Vice Governor Nathalie Anne Debuque, Congresswoman Kathy F. Gorriceta, former Congressman Michael B. Gorriceta, Sangguniang Bayan members, Department of the Interior and Local Government Assistant Regional Director Ma. Calpiza Sardua, Provincial Director Carmelo F. Orbista, and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer VI Soccoro Joy D. Garcia.

In his message, Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta formally declared the festival open, emphasizing the importance of unity and shared cultural identity in sustaining Pavia’s annual celebration.

The program also featured the presentation of candidates for the Carabao Carroza Festival Queen Search, drawing attention to one of the highlights of the festival.

Organizers also led the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the Agro-Trade Fair, Tourism Promotion Area, and Pasalubong Center, showcasing local products and promoting small and medium enterprises in the municipality.

The opening day concluded with the ceremonial lighting of the fountains and a fireworks display, signaling the start of the town’s festive activities leading up to the highlight celebration on May 4.

Festival activities are expected to continue in the coming days, with various cultural, civic, and entertainment events lined up for residents and visitors.
