While the Region VI athletes have now arrived in Agusan del Sur for the Palarong Pambansa, the Local Government Unit of Pavia, under the leadership of Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, extended its support to the Pavianhon Men’s Volleyball Athletes by providing them with new shoes—a symbol of encouragement, unwavering support, and confidence—before they departed to represent the Province of Iloilo in the Palarong Pambansa 2026.
Additionally, other athlete qualifiers from different categories were given cash incentives from the personal resources of the Mayor, based on their choice. This brings the total number of Pavianhon qualifiers to 35 athletes. This also marks the first time in the history of Pavia sports that the municipality has produced its highest number of qualifiers for the prestigious national competition.
Through this initiative, the strong support and commitment of the LGU in empowering local athletes and enhancing sports excellence among the youth are reflected. A reminder of the municipality’s continued encouragement and pride in molding young athletes to become part of one of the country’s most prestigious sporting events.
