Iloilo Province and its seven (7) component local government units (LGUs) have made it to the list of this year’s passers for the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) of the Department of the Interior and Local and Government (DILG).

Among the 7 local government passers, the Municipal Government of Pavia  has once again attained its Seal of Good Local Governance award, making it the 3rd time in being one of the outstanding municipalities in the country.

In an announcement made by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, a total of 493 participating local government units passed the assessment criteria for the SGLG.

The Seal of Good Local Governance, also known as “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal”, is awarded by the DILG annually to deserving provinces, cities, and municipalities that perform well in various fields.

The SGLG 2023 requires LGUs to pass all 10 governance areas — financial administration; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.

SGLG awards is an incentive, honor and recognition-based program which aims to boost the LGUs’ drive to constantly progress and/or sustain their notable performance across various governance areas.
