The Municipality of Pavia formally rolled out the Smart Metro Systems on October 24, 2025, at the VIP Room, Multipurpose Gymnasium, and Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall in Pavia, Iloilo.
In collaboration with the Metro Iloilo–Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) and the University of the Philippines Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (UP-TCAGP), the activity formed part of Project Lungsod, a research initiative funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Through the Smart Metro Systems, the local government aims to strengthen data-driven and transparent governance by integrating digital platforms that enhance efficiency and coordination among offices. During the soft launch, four pilot applications—CONNECT, COMMAND, CODEX, and COLLAB—were introduced through orientation and demonstration sessions led by the UP Diliman Project Lungsod Team.
Meanwhile, Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta noted that the project reflects Pavia’s continuing efforts to embrace innovation and improve public service delivery, in line with its vision of building smarter systems and better communities.
