The Municipality of Pavia unveiled a bust sculpture of the late Congressman Arcadio Hitalia Gorriceta on October 6, 2025, in front of the Pavia Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.

The project was introduced and pushed by Mayor Laurence Anthony “Luigi” G. Gorriceta, who initiated the move to honor his late uncle and mentor. He endorsed a resolution to the Sangguniang Bayan, leading to the approval of Resolution No. 2025-158, which authorized the establishment of the commemorative bust in recognition of Congressman Gorriceta’s service to the Municipality of Pavia and the 2nd District of Iloilo.

During the ceremony, Municipal Ordinance No. 2021-07 was also presented to the Gorriceta family and attendees, declaring July 2 of every year as “Arcadio H. Gorriceta Day.” The annual observance will pay tribute to the congressman’s life and legacy of public service.

Former Senator Franklin M. Drilon, a longtime friend of the late lawmaker, attended the unveiling and recalled their 68 years of friendship, describing Gorriceta as a man of integrity and dedication to good governance.

The event was attended by members of the Gorriceta family, including Former Congressman Michael B. Gorriceta, Congresswoman Kathryn Joyce F. Gorriceta, Mrs. Suzette B. Gorriceta, and Ms. Joyce G. Certeza, along with local officials, department heads, school heads, and barangay leaders.

Mayor Luigi Gorriceta said the bust serves as a reminder of the late congressman’s devotion to the people of Pavia and his enduring legacy of leadership and service.
