The Municipality of Pavia reinforced its fight against illegal drugs by holding a training and seminar on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) on March 5, 2026, at the Robinsons Place Pavia Recreation Center. The activity was organized by the Pavia Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The seminar aimed to help barangay officials and community partners understand the steps needed to keep communities drug-free across Pavia’s 18 barangays.

During the seminar, representatives from PDEA and DILG explained the 2026 updated guidelines for the BDCP. Participants were guided on how the program works and what barangays need to do to qualify as drug-cleared communities. These include strengthening the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADAC), properly maintaining watch lists, documenting house visits, assisting individuals who voluntarily surrender, and carrying out community-based drug rehabilitation programs. These measures help barangays monitor drug-related concerns and support individuals who are undergoing recovery.

As part of the program, members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and Barangay Auxillary Team (BAT) also underwent drug testing to reinforce accountability and ensure that those implementing anti-drug initiatives serve as role models in promoting a drug-free community.

The activity ended with the awarding of certificates to participants who completed the training. In his closing message, PCPT Ritz Field Presquito, Officer-in-Charge of the Pavia Police Station, assured participants that the Philippine National Police will continue supporting barangay officials and local leaders in their efforts to protect communities and achieve drug-cleared status throughout the municipality.
