The Municipality of Pavia earned the distinction of First Runner-Up for the Most Senior Citizen-Friendly Municipality in Iloilo Province during the Elderly Filipino Week Culminating Activity organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) on October 24, 2025, at MO2 Westown Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

In line with this year’s theme, “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose,” the recognition affirms Pavia’s continuous initiatives in improving the quality of life of its senior citizens through inclusive and sustainable programs. Moreover, it underscores the municipality’s commitment to promoting participation, accessibility to social services, and a supportive environment for the elderly sector.

Representing Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta during the awarding ceremony were SB Member Ariel Gerada, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head Judy Hollero, and personnel from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

The local government expressed appreciation for the citation and vowed to strengthen its programs and services for the welfare of Pavianhon senior citizens.
