The Municipal Government of Pavia marked a significant milestone in its digital innovation efforts with the official turnover of the Digital Payment QR Code System on October 15, 2025, at the Executive Hall of the Municipal Hall. This initiative marks a major step toward modernizing financial transactions and enhancing public service efficiency for both residents and local businesses.

The new system introduces a cashless payment method utilizing QR code technology to streamline transactions and minimize cash-handling risks. The ceremonial turnover was attended by key figures, including Mayor Laurence Anthony Gorriceta, Vice Mayor Edsel Gerochi, SB Member Ariel Gerada, Municipal Treasurer Caroline Teruel, MTO and BPLO personnel, and GCash EcoDev representative Alex Pedrano, highlighting the strong collaboration between the local government and its private sector partner.

Designated offices such as the MDRRMO, RHU, PSTMO, and MTO received QR code-enabled devices, which will facilitate faster, more secure, and transparent financial transactions. This initiative is part of Pavia’s broader commitment to digitizing public services, promoting financial inclusivity, and fostering sustainable economic growth within the municipality.
