Qualified senior citizens in this town can now watch movies for free following the launch of the “Libre Sine” program of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pavia at Robinsons Movieworld.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), is anchored on Municipal Ordinance No. 2024-46 authored by Sangguniang Bayan Member JP Peñol. The ordinance grants free cinema admission to eligible senior citizens as part of the municipality’s efforts to promote inclusive and senior-friendly services.

Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta attended the program launch and expressed support for the initiative, citing the importance of recognizing the contributions of senior citizens to the community. He was joined by Vice Mayor Bibo G. Gerochi, Sangguniang Bayan Member Rhia B. Sotomil, OSCA head Judy Hollero, OIC-MSWDO Jocelyn M. Lagamo, and Diana Herrera, Robinsons Mall administrative manager.

Also present was JV Peñol, representing Board Member JP J. Peñol, author of the ordinance.

According to the LGU, the “Libre Sine” program aims to enhance the welfare of senior citizens by providing accessible recreational activities through collaboration between the local government and private partners.
