To strengthen its commitment to education and youth development, the Local Government of Pavia recognized 474 outstanding students during the 5th Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta Academic Excellence Award held on July 18, 2025, at the Pavia Multi-Purpose Center.
The annual program aims to motivate learners at all levels—from elementary to college—by recognizing exemplary academic performance. This year’s awardees included Latin honor graduates and topnotchers of professional board examinations.
As part of the recognition, students received medals and cash incentives. According to the LGU, the initiative underscores the town’s investment in education as a key pillar of community growth
The activity was organized by the Municipal Tourism and Development Office, headed by Mr. Dexter Dizon, in coordination with the Office of the Mayor.
During the ceremony, Mayor Luigi Gorriceta highlighted the importance of academic excellence in shaping future leaders and reaffirmed the local government’s support for educational initiatives.
