The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pavia, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Mrs. Jocelyn Lagamo, spearheaded a Children’s Congress attended by Child Development Workers and their pupils. The event, held in line with the celebration of National Children’s Month this November, carried the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”
During the program, Mayor Luigi Gorriceta delivered his Local State of the Children’s Report, emphasizing the municipal government’s unwavering commitment to protecting children’s rights and ensuring their welfare. He highlighted the LGU’s ongoing initiatives to combat child labor, abuse, and online sexual exploitation.
To promote children’s health and well-being, Dr. Bea Gerochi conducted an informative lecture on proper toothbrushing and oral hygiene. The activity was followed by the distribution of oral hygiene kits and fun interactive games that brought joy and laughter to the young participants.
Sangguniang Bayan members Ariel Gerada and Rhia Sotomil also attended the event, expressing their support for programs promoting child protection and development in the municipality.
The Municipality of Pavia remains steadfast in its advocacy to uphold the safety, rights, and holistic development of every child—ensuring that the youth of Pavia grow in a secure, nurturing, and empowering environment.
