The Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) of the Municipality of Pavia commenced its Workshop on Data Analysis and Assessment (Step 4), Sectoral Data Projections, and Sectoral Analysis Matrix on November 25–27, 2025, at District 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The opening day featured an in-depth discussion led by invited Resource Speaker EnP. Jigger P. Labergue, who emphasized the vital role of the Local Government Unit of Pavia in aligning its local policies and spatial development directions with the Province’s Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP). His presentation underscored the importance of harmonizing municipal initiatives with provincial strategies to ensure coherence in development planning.
This was followed by EnP. Vophie E. Pendon, who provided an orientation on the new DHSUD Guidelines for CLUP Updating, outlining the latest policy directions, planning standards, and procedural requirements to guide LGUs in formulating updated and compliant Comprehensive Land Use Plans.
For the remainder of the three-day activity, Engr./EnP. Rosario L. Ladrido, CLUP Advisor, facilitated technical sessions and hands-on exercises focusing on interpreting and validating sectoral data, generating future development scenarios based on data projections, and preparing sectoral analysis matrices to support evidence-based planning.
Participants from various municipal departments actively engaged in group workshops and planning exercises, working collaboratively to identify development trends and assess sector-specific needs. The outputs generated will serve as foundational inputs for Pavia’s long-term development planning and will guide more responsive program formulation and resource allocation.
This initiative reflects the Municipality’s strong commitment to improving local governance through data-driven and participatory planning, reinforcing Pavia’s vision of sustainable, inclusive, and well-planned development.
