The Pavia Local Government Unit (LGU), under the leadership of Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), culminated its Women’s Month celebration on March 28, 2026, featuring activities focused on the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and the subtheme “Lead Like Babaylans, Filipinas.”
The event began with a parade from Barangay Purok 4 to the Pavia Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, followed by a Zumba session attended by representatives from the municipality’s 18 barangays. Marianne B. Sotomil, a resource speaker, gave an inspiring talk about women’s empowerment, emphasizing the importance of women in building inclusive communities.
Highlights of the event included a poster-slogan contest, a dance competition, free wellness services, and a flower arrangement workshop.
Vice Mayor Edsel G. Gerochi, SB Member Rhia B. Sotomil, and Ms. Arianne Camot, representing Congresswoman Kathy F. Gorriceta’s office, all expressed their support for initiatives that benefit women.
The activity reaffirmed Pavia’s commitment to gender equality and acknowledged women’s critical role in community development.
