The Municipality of Pavia formally opened the 2025 National Celebration of Elderly Filipino Week through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This year’s observance carries the theme “Embracing Age: Lived a Life with Dignity and Purpose.”

The celebration commenced with a Holy Mass to offer thanksgiving and prayers for the elderly, followed by a “Walk for Life,” which served as a symbol of vitality, unity, and strength among senior citizens in the municipality.

Following the opening activities, representatives from 18 barangays participated in a Folk Dance Competition showcasing traditional Filipino dances that reflected the community’s creativity and cultural heritage.

In addition, a “Bereber Sayaw” session— a dance exercise inspired by individuals with Parkinson’s Disease—was conducted to promote physical movement and encourage social engagement among participants.

Through this weeklong celebration, the Municipality of Pavia reaffirmed its support for the welfare of senior citizens and its commitment to promoting their continued involvement in community life.
