Responding to the need to strengthen community support for senior citizens and individuals with special needs, the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) organized the Community Caregivers’ Training Level 1 on December 1–2, 2025, at the Pavia Gymnasium.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the Pavia Senior Citizens’ Association and Soroptimist International of Iloilo (SII).

During the two-day training, medical and caregiving professionals discussed psychological understanding of the elderly, communication with families, hygiene and sanitation, safe handling of medication, and vital signs monitoring.

Meanwhile, participants observed a caregiving process demonstration and took part in hands-on exercises, which later culminated in a guided counter demonstration.

To cap the activity, organizers conducted an evaluation and distributed certificates to the participants, marking the completion of Level 1 and preparing them for the succeeding phases of the program.
