With the commitment to strengthen the implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program in the municipality, the local government unit of Pavia headed by Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta spearheaded its reorientation seminar, in collaboration with Pavia Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC), Rural Health Unit (RHU), and Pavia Philippine National Police (PNP), held at the Pavia Multi-Purpose Center, June 30, 2026.
Following the program, local official Hon. SB Joefritz C. Collado attended the event to deliver his message on the importance and ways to strengthen proactive initiatives in creating a drug-free community while affirming the local government unit’s duty to the program.
Additionally, one of the resource speakers, Iloilo Province Office No. 1-Probation and Parole Officer Florence B. Biyo, presented an in-depth discussion on probation and parole management systems. The presentation instilled practical tools to participants on how to navigate these legal solutions.
During the seminar, a lecture proper on Board Regulation No. 3 series of 2017 “Strengthening the Implementation of Barangay Drug Clearing Program,” was discussed by Provincial Iloilo PDEA Officer Investigation Agent V Nicolas C. Gomez. This aimed to provide stakeholders a solidified comprehensive guideline and framework for maintaining peace and order through campaigning against illegal drug activities.
Furthermore, a free random drug test was conducted by PDEA and PNP personnel to promote the objective of barangay drug-clearing operations.
The program ended with the awarding of certificates to guests and participants. In his closing message, Pavia PNP Chief of Police PMAJ Bonifacio L Alabe, Jr., emphasized the department’s commitment to sustaining public safety and supporting programs that advocate for drug clearing in the community.
The seminar served as a way to fortify the collaborative efforts of the local government unit, public safety departments, and local community in creating a safer drug-cleared municipality.
