The Local Government Unit of Pavia, in partnership with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VI through the Iloilo Provincial Population Office – Municipality of Pavia, conducted a Training on Data Analysis and Visualization on October 23–24, 2025, at the Pavia Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Pavia, Iloilo.
The two-day training aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs), Population Program Officers (PPOs) from the 2nd District of Iloilo, and PPO Pavia staff in understanding the basic concepts and processes of data visualization.
Furthermore, it provided hands-on sessions on the use of available data visualization software and tools and discussed strategies for applying these in local Population and Development (POPDEV) initiatives.
The sessions were facilitated by CPD Region VI and included a pre-test, leveling of expectations, and a technical session on Basic Concepts on Data Visualization conducted by Mr. Joshua Janeo, Statistician I of CPD Region VI.
The activity highlighted the importance of improving data literacy and analytical skills among population officers to support evidence-based planning and policy development in POPDEV programs.
