In celebration of this year’s Women’s Month, the Local Government of Pavia under the administration of Mayor Luigi Gorriceta in coordination with MSWDO, Pavia PNP and the Office of SB Member Rhia Sotomil conducted a fun run dubbed as RAGE – Run Against Gender inEquality on March 8, 2024.
Running enthusiasts, Pavianhon Runners, IMMS Students, Maanyag Lady Bikers and LGU Pavia Officials and Employees joined the fun run and Zumba exercise that sought to raise awareness on women empowerment and gender equality.
Pavia PNP, Pavia Traffic Management Office and Pavia Emergency Responders assisted in implementing the fun run and provided necessary support to ensure the participants’ safety and security.
For years now, SB Member Rhia Sotomil is in the forefront in strengthening women empowerment and has committed to actively support all programs geared towards women empowerment.
Present during the activity were Vice Mayor Bibo Gerochi, SB Members JP Peñol, Ariel Gerada and Pyt Trimañez.
Mayor Luigi Gorriceta reiterated that the local government will continue to enhance advocacies in order to establish a progressive environment where women are given opportunities to enrich their skills and optimize their strengths in performing crucial roles in the community and in nation-building.
