Day 1 of Brigada Eskwela at Pavia National High School and Pavia Pilot Elementary School was a resounding success. Despite the rainy weather, students, parents, and volunteers came together to clean and organize the school environment.
The event saw the attendance of various stakeholders from both government and non-government organizations, all united in their commitment to improving the educational environment.
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school maintenance program in the Philippines, organized by the Department of Education (DepEd). It aims to prepare public schools for the upcoming school year by engaging various stakeholders, including parents, teachers, students, and community members, in activities such as cleaning, painting, and repairing school facilities.
The program, also known as “Bayanihan para sa Paaralan” (Working Together for Schools), embodies the Filipino spirit of “bayanihan” or communal unity and cooperation.
For School Year 2024-2025, Brigada Eskwela is scheduled from July 22 to 27, with the theme “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan.” This initiative not only helps improve the physical condition of schools but also strengthens the collaboration between the government and the community to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students.
