Barangay Purok 4 in the Municipality of Pavia was chosen as Regional Showcase Barangay of Iloilo Province for the KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program.
The Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas program intends to uphold clean and green governance at barangay levels by promoting sustainable development and instilling the habit of cleanliness among residents to create livable communities.
This is line with DILG MC No. 2023 –133 known as Barangay at Kalinisan Day (BarKaDa) which enjoins all barangays to conduct a weekly clean-up drive, preferably every Saturday to encourage public participation, within their premises.
Earlier this morning, the Barangay Officials of Barangay Purok 4 led by Punong Barangay Juvy Jaleco launched the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program to encourage cleanliness and community spirit. The DILG Iloilo Provincial Team, partner agencies, and MLGOO Ma’am Cocoy Garcia were also present.
Atty. Dave Robert Capada, LGMES Section Chief discussed the rationale of the DILG Memorandum on Kalinisan. Ma’am Cocoy Garcia gave her message of appreciation to the barangay officials and participants for their unwavering support to the initiatives of the DILG.
The collective effort of the community continues to exemplify the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment making this activity a success.
Present during the program were SB Member Dan Fajardo, LIGA ng mga Barangay President Ludovico Alfaro, DILG Cluster Head Ma’am Maria Fatima Daiz, CSOs, and Purok 4 Barangay and SK Officials.
