IRS Team composed of Municipal Health Office and Pavia Emergency Responders, is conducting indoor residual spraying in all public schools in the Municipality. It has been conducted year-round within the 50m radius of dwellings of confirmed dengue cases to kill mosquitos as vectors of dengue, chikungunya, and zika virus.
IRS involves applying residual insecticide to potential vector resting sites on the interior surfaces of buildings, aimed at killing vectors before they can transmit pathogens to humans.
To date, it has effectively kept dengue at bay.
