As the Municipality of Pavia continues to grow, the Local Government of Pavia under the leadership of Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, in coordination and collaboration with the MSWDO, MENRO, and MAO, proposed and implemented a project entitled “Food for Work,” a four-day activity focused on vegetable farming.
This project covers the elderly, particularly senior citizens, as beneficiaries. It aims to provide them with two boxes of goods for the duration of the activity in exchange for their continuous participation in maintaining and developing a community vegetable garden that provides fresh produce, educational opportunities, and a space for community engagement.
The culminating activity implemented will continue to be monitored by the MSWDO, MENRO, and MAO in line with the project’s maintenance and sustainability. The DSWD FOVI shall also provide technical assistance to help ensure that the activity’s outcomes will create a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and the community.
