Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. led the turnover of Career Guidance Instructional Modules (CGIM) to 80 public secondary schools in Iloilo this morning at Pavia National High School, aiming to guide students in making informed education and career choices.

The ceremony coincided with the school’s career advocacy event, “Pagbinag-binag: Thinking Through Career Options.”

The CGIM, part of the Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya (BESProbins) Program, was developed with DepEd Iloilo and the University of the Philippines, and is aligned with Republic Act No. 11206, authored by Defensor himself.

Each module includes lesson guides, learner activities, and assessments to help teachers deliver systematic career guidance for grades 7 to 12. The initiative is expected to reach thousands of students as mother schools replicate sessions in their districts.

Defensor said the program bridges the gap between students’ skills and workforce needs, ensuring graduates are ready for both employment and further education.
