I never thought I’d see the day, a moment so surreal that it feels like destiny is at play. Perhaps, it’s in the genes, the pull toward something greater. This opportunity, though it seems almost too good to be true, finds me ready for the challenge it brings. The responsibility is significant, but I’m determined to take this leap, knowing it holds the promise of personal growth in ways I can’t fully express. Allow me the honor of sharing my reflections on a life-changing decision—a journey where I invested my heart and mind in the service of the public.
Before deciding to run for the SK Chairperson of our barangay, the encouragement from my peers, colleagues, and friends resonated deeply. They saw a connection I had established with the youth, coupled with the unwavering support of my family, forming a foundation of unbreakable bonds.
Active participation in community activities became a way of life for me. Whether it was lending a hand in decorating Carabao Carrozas, enhancing Tigkaralag festival costumes, or initiating boodle fights to strengthen our brotherhood, I embraced every opportunity. Representing our barangay in various competitions and facilitating the distribution of food packs during the pandemic, as initiated by my brother, former Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation President Kervin Matthew G. Zaldarriaga, were all heartfelt contributions. These elements became the backbone of my victory in the recently concluded BSK election, placing me in the position of the new SK Chairperson of Barangay Purok 4.

These considerations also led me to take on the challenge of running for the SKMF, creating history and experiencing another miracle bestowed upon me. While anxiety and doubts lingered, my victory has brought profound realizations:
1. Trusting in God, believing in the process, and letting miracles unfold, for God works in mysterious ways.
2. A foundation and bond nurtured by passion and compassion over decades, resilient against character assassinations, black propaganda, and any forms of vote-buying. Walking with pride, my head held high, as the true voice of the youth triumphed over money and prohibited practices in the election.
3. Being visible at all times, especially during times of need, creates a lasting impression that goes beyond words.
This journey has been a testament to faith, resilience, and the strength of genuine connections. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your SK Chairperson, and I am committed to making a positive impact on our barangay’s youth and community. Together, let us continue building a future filled with unity and progress.
Words alone may not define what makes a good young leader, and I admit, I’m not the best with words. My strength lies in actions — I believe in doing more than saying. You might not know me well, but this responsibility, now my job, is a chance for me to grow and give my absolute best to serve you. I might not fit the image you had in mind, but I’m confident in what I bring to the table. I’m here to serve our municipality with nothing less than my very best, aiming for the best outcome for all of us.
Thank you.
