Educators from Doctor Yanga S. Colleges, Inc. (DYCI), namely Mr. Jude Barriento, Ms. Genelyn Buencamino, Ms. April Lesundra, and Mr. John Kelvin R. Briones, conducted a benchmarking visit to Pandac Elementary School in Barangay Pandac, Pavia, Iloilo to gain insights into the school’s effective learning and teaching practices in reading literacy.
The delegation was accompanied by Ma’am Ma. Melanie C. Villalon, District Supervisor of Pavia, and was welcomed by Mr. Ruben B. Surriga, Principal of Pandac Elementary School; Ma’am Mary Claudette B. Bactung; and Ma’am Ma. Fe Brillantes the Education Program Supervisors, DepEd Division of Iloilo, together with local barangay officials.
During the visit, Ma’am Villalon presented the implementation and accomplishments of the Reading Literacy Program, highlighting the collaborative efforts of schools, educators, and the Local Government Unit of Pavia under the leadership of Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta in improving literacy outcomes among learners.
The benchmarking activity also served as a venue for sharing experiences, discussing program strengths and challenges, and exploring strategies that support the continuous development of learners’ comprehension skills.
