The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officially opened the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Iloilo Satellite Office in Pavia, Iloilo, with a ceremonial opening at Room 36, 2nd Floor, Pavia Public Market.



The event also included the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, representing the Local Government Unit of Pavia, and Dir. Joselito G. Estember, representing DSWD Field Office VI.



The satellite office aims to improve the delivery of essential social welfare services to Pavianhons and residents of neighboring municipalities in the 2nd District of Iloilo by bringing government assistance closer to communities.



The ceremony was attended by mayors from towns in Iloilo’s 2nd District, Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) officers from all over the district, and Punong Baragays of Pavia.



Local officials of Pavia, Iloilo, led by Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, expressed gratitude to the DSWD for establishing the satellite office. Mayor also thanked Congresswoman Kathy G. Gorriceta and former Congressman Michael B. Gorriceta, who were also in attendance, for their help in establishing the SWAD Satellite Office.



With the SWAD Satellite Office now operational, Pavianhons can expect more accessible, efficient, and responsive social welfare services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a community that’s centered public service.
