DSWD Assistant Secretary Marites M. Maristela visited Pavia on September 9, 2025, to conduct field validation and home visits for beneficiaries of the 4Ps First 1,000 Days (F1KD) Strategy. The F1KD Strategy aims to combat malnutrition among children from 4Ps households with pregnant women and children aged 0–2 years old.
During site visits in Barangays Ungka 1 and Mali-ao, ASEC Maristela, along with the NPMO, gathered experiences from beneficiaries regarding maternal and child health services. Maristela emphasized the critical importance of the first 1,000 days for a child’s health and potential.
The activity is part of the program’s monitoring and evaluation, with findings used to improve strategies and address challenges faced by vulnerable families. Local officials expressed support for the initiative. The DSWD will use learnings from Pavia to enhance the 4Ps F1KD program nationwide. After the visit, Asec Maristela paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta.
