Barangays Jibao-an and Tigum took part in the 2025 Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod, with onsite validations conducted on August 7 and 8, respectively.
The provincial initiative, launched in 2005, aims to recognize barangay tanods who demonstrate excellence in organization, legal foundation, training, logistics, equipment, and recorded accomplishments. The program also underscores their role in maintaining peace and order at the community level.
Barangay tanods are volunteer peacekeepers tasked with responding to emergencies, disasters, and incidents that threaten public safety. Operating despite limited resources and minimal compensation, they support the government’s efforts to sustain local security.
Present during the onsite validations to show moral support were Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, Vice Mayor Bibo G. Gerochi, Sangguniang Bayan Members Leonardo Belasa, Ariel B. Gerada, Joefritz Collado, and Rhia B. Sotomil, barangay officials of Brgy. Balabag, Pavia PNP Personnel headed by PMAJ Jose Nemias P Pamplona, BFP headed by FSINSP Mary Angelie B Jala, MDRRMO Personnel headed by Mr. Rommel A. Jamerlan, and a Civil Society Organization representatives.
Through the evaluations, Barangays Jibao-an and Tigum presented the systems, resources, and accomplishments of their tanod units for assessment by the provincial search committee.
