Barangay Tigum, headed by Punong Barangay, Hon. Ferdinand A. Guillem, together with barangay officials celebrates its third-year Basyahanay sa Barangay 2026, today, June 24.
Basyahanay sa Barangay Event was administered by the Chairman of the Committee on Cultural of Barangay Tigum, Hon. Spark Lobingco, to commemorate the feast of San Juan while fostering unity and enriching traditions.
The event included basyahanay, a color fun run, Zumba dances, awarding of in Barangay Tigum’s newly college graduates’ Latin honors and Palarong Pambansa Pavianhon Athletes, fun games in the morning, and a foam disco party later at 7 in the evening.
The fun run, under the theme “Together We Run, Together We Rise,” started its route at Pavia Municipal Plaza, ending at their destination at Barangay Tigum Basketball Court, where most of the activities take place.
A major highlight of the event was the combination of Zumba dances and basyahanay, or the dousing of water, in honor of Jesus Christ’s baptism by Saint John the Baptist, with a twist of throwing colored powder and smoke on the streets and participants.
Followed by an awarding of Latin honors to the barangay’s freshly graduated college students and proud Palarong Pambansa Tigumnon Athletes, where all received cash incentives and a certificate.
The morning activities concluded with games such as bamboo boxing and relays.
The celebration takes place every June 24 to honor the feast of San Juan, uniting an energetic community closer to their faith and solidarity.
