January 8, 2025 – Pavia proudly marks its 104th anniversary of becoming an independent municipality, a significant moment in our town’s history. On this day in 1921, through an Executive Order issued by then U.S. Governor General Francis Burton Harrison, Pavia separated from Jaro to become a self-governing community.

This anniversary is further honored under Republic Act No. 12105, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., which designates January 8, 2025, as a special working holiday in Pavia. This act celebrates Pavia’s rich history and continued progress.

Originally part of Santa Barbara, transitioning through Iloilo City, and eventually becoming part of Jaro, Pavia has developed into a vibrant municipality with a strong sense of identity and community spirit. This celebration not only honors our past but also highlights the resilience, unity, and spirit that define us as Pavianhons.

As we reflect on our history, we take pride in our accomplishments and stay committed to building a brighter future. We honor those who laid the foundations of our municipality and continue their legacy of progress, culture, and community for generations to come.

Happy 104th Anniversary, Pavia! Let’s celebrate with pride and a vision for an even greater future.
