With the institutionalization of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) under Republic Act No. 11315, also known as the CBMS Act, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted its CBMS Data Turnover Ceremony to the Municipality of Pavia on April 12, 2024, at the Executive Hall, Pavia Municipal Building.
The data turnover ceremony, which represents the victory and accomplishment of the CBMS 2022 data collecting, is an incredible milestone for the Local Government of Pavia. The event showcased the effective and broad commitment to community empowerment and data-driven governance. It marks significant turning points in data development as a useful tool for developing projects, strategies, programs, and other activities targeted at resolving the municipality’s top priorities.
The activity was graced by Mayor Luigi Gorriceta, Mrs. Mabel E. Paches (MPDC), Ms. Welalie Cloven H. Lasaleta (Information System Analyst II/ DPO), the LGU Pavia Department Heads, Ms. Marlene Y. Alviar (Chief Statistical Specialist, SOCD, PSA RSSO VI), Mr. Stephen C. AraƱa (Senior Statistical Specialist, CBMS Focal Person, PSA-Iloilo) and Ms. Ma. Goretti M. Novilla (Supervising Statistical Specialist, OIC, PSA Iloilo).
CBMS is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for local planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring while empowering communities to participate in the process.
