Rather than limiting the observance to ceremonial activities, the Local Government Unit of Pavia carried the national 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women into barangays and municipal offices through a series of coordinated initiatives led by SB Member Rhia Sotomil and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Central to the campaign was the Women’s VAWlleyball Tournament Season 3, which gathered women from various barangays in a community-based sports event. Beyond competition, the tournament provided a platform to share information on women’s rights, gender equality, and the shared responsibility of preventing violence against women.

The paVAWhas Zumba Contest further engaged women and community members through a fitness-centered activity that combined recreation with awareness. Participants received updates on laws protecting women, available support services, and ways to report abuse.

In addition, the Most VAW Advocate Office recognition highlighted municipal offices that demonstrated strong commitment to gender sensitivity and violence prevention programs. The recognition encouraged continued integration of gender and development principles in office policies and operations.

Through these activities, the LGU reinforced public awareness, promoted women’s active participation, and strengthened institutional support in addressing violence against women at the local level.
