The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Pavia, headed by Engr. Jolepe Suerte, received two major citations during the Gawad Probinsya sa Palibot (GPP) 2.0 Awarding Ceremony on November 28, 2025, at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City.
Pavia was given a Plaque of Recognition for Exemplary Satisfactory Performance in the 2025 Provincial Search for Outstanding Local Government Units on Environmental Governance (EnGov), Year 9, held in line with the 4th Provincial Environmental Awareness Month Celebration.
The municipality also earned the Best in Environmental Governance Initiative (Water Monitoring System) award for its Multi-Parameter Water Quality Checker, a monitoring tool developed to track local water quality.
Representatives from the Municipality of Pavia accepted the awards, including a symbolic check worth ₱50,000.
The citations were conferred to acknowledge MENRO’s initiatives and the local government’s sustained efforts in environmental management.
