The Municipality of Pavia secured second place in the 2025 Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award (RMSKPA), a regional search that recognizes outstanding efforts of local government units (LGUs) in advancing the Population and Development (PopDev) Agenda.
The award, which carries a ₱20,000 financial grant, acknowledges the municipality’s initiatives in promoting reproductive health, responsible parenthood, and youth development.
These efforts have positioned Pavia among the top-performing LGUs in Western Visayas in implementing people-centered development programs.
The awarding ceremony took place on July 30, 2025. Representing the municipality were Mayor Luigi G. Gorriceta, Vice Mayor Bibo Gerochi and Population Program Officer I, Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, who received the plaque of recognition on behalf of the local government.
In a statement, Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Regional Director Harold Alfred P. Marshall commended the winners for their effective grassroots-based strategies aligned with the Philippine Population and Development Program of Action (PPD-POA) 2023–2028. He noted that this year’s awardees demonstrated strong commitment to making reproductive rights and services more accessible to their communities.
