Pavianhon Celebrates Simbang Gabi with Free “Kape, Tahu, Pandesal and Arroz Caldo”

Simbang Gabi  is a long standing tradition of Filipino Catholics which starts every 16th of December and ends on Christmas eve. The dawn and evening masses are part of a rigorous ritual in preparation for the Christmas Day.

In the Municipality of Pavia, it has been a tradition for 9 years now that every after Simbang Gabi, the local government headed by Mayor Mike Gorriceta with the help of the various business establishments in the town, gives free tahu, kape, pandesal and arroz caldo to the church-goers.

SPO4 Sotomil receives National Dangal ng Bayan Award

SPO4 Rhia B. Sotomil of the Pavia Municipal Police Station was recently chosen as one of the recipients of this year’s National Dangal ng Bayan Award from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The Dangal ng Bayan Award is conferred to an individual for performance of extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior on the basis of the employee’s observation of the eight norms of conduct under Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Municipal Officials and Employees Fun Run & Hataw

As part of the yearly Christmas celebration of the Municipal Officials and Employees, a string of events which runs for about two weeks prior to Christmas, a fun run was held and was participated in by LGU Officials and Employees. It was immediately followed by a physical fitness activity popularly known as "Hataw" at the Pavia Gymnasium.    

Snacks were served right after the fun run to top up the energy reserves of the "Hataw" participants. This yearly activity is ably supported by Mayor Michael B. Gorriceta and the rest of the Municipal Officials.

PNHS Teen Center awarded the Most Outstanding Teen Center in the province

The Provincial Government of Iloilo in cooperation with the Provincial Population Office conducted last December 3, 2014 the Teen Center Day and Awarding Ceremony at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.

Last August 2014, pursuant to the provincial government’s commitment to youth development, the Provincial Population Office launched the search for the most outstanding school-based multi-purpose teen center.

Top Performers in Realty Tax Collection recognized

The top performers in municipal treasury services in the Province of Iloilo for the period of January to October 2014 were recently recognized by the provincial government in the awarding rites held at Iloilo Grand Hotel.

The awardees were determined and identified by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office based on their performance in generating revenues for the province.

Pavia MPS receives a Plaque of Conferment for Initiation Status

The Philippine National Police has conferred the Performance Governance System (PGS) on its Initiation Stage to the Pavia Municipal Police Station for its high compliance to the PNP Patrol Plan 2030.

The award was given to Pavia MPS because of their demonstrated commitment to effectively implement the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 for the attainment of the vision for a highly capable, effective and credible police service.

Police Senior Inspector Dante Dumaguing and Municipal Administrator Designate Ramy Madero received the said award.

Pavia joins in “HUBLAG: Hulag Barangay! Lihok sang Amnestiya Ginasuporta.”

Hulag Barangay! Lihok sang Amnestiya Ginasuporta or HUBLAG highlights the participation of barangays in real property tax collection. 

It is an initiative that aims to step up the information campaign of the province’s real property tax amnesty in the grass root level and enjoin taxpayers to pay their dues before the tax relief is over.

PNHS bags Best Regional Implementer for Brigada Eskwela 2014

Pavia National High School was recently adjudged as the Best Regional Implementer for Brigada Eskwela Program 2014.

Brigada Eskwela is a DepEd sanctioned activity which encourages the collaboration of stakeholders in bringing the spirit of volunteerism.

The Brigada Eskwela Program was embraced by different organizations supported by the active participation of the teachers headed by Mrs. Delorah Cecilia L. Fantillo, the parents, the students, and the Local Government Unit thru the leadership of Mayor Michael B. Gorriceta.
