LGU Pavia gets "Child Friendly Local Governance Seal"

The Municipality of Pavia headed by Mayor Mike B. Gorriceta was conferred with the 2015 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance for its commitment in promoting child rights to survival, development, protection and participation towards a Child-Friendly Philippines.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assessed the performance of the Local Government Unit (LGU) in the delivery of social services that promotes the welfare of children.

Pavia Fire Station receives new fire truck

To boost the firefighting capability of our local fire station, the Municipality of Pavia acquired a new fire truck from the Department of Interior and Local Government headed by Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento. The new fire truck has a capacity to hold 1,000 gallons of water.

During the turnover ceremony, Sec. Sarmiento said that these additional firetrucks will boost the capability of the firefighters particularly in the attainment of their prime duty of saving the people’s life and property.

President Aquino inaugurates PAGCOR School Building in PNHS

President Benigno S. Aquino III visited the province of Iloilo and inaugurated a three-storey, 18-classroom building in Pavia National High School (PNHS).

The school building is a joint project of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) through the funding of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

In his speech, President Aquino imparted that the project forms part of the K-12 program implementation. It will be used by incoming senior high school students this June. 


With the supervision of Jean M. Quistadio, MLGOO of the Municipality of Pavia, the local officials, department heads, school heads and selected NGO’s attended the Seminar Workshop on Legislative Agenda Formulation at Al Dente Restaurant, Iloilo City last July 1, 2015.

The workshop aims to enhance the legislative capacity and effectiveness of the participants as to the procedural aspect as well as in the participatory extent of legislature in the municipal level. It aims to help the participants to get a more critical view of their functions.


Mayor Mike Gorriceta welcomed the team of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) in a courtesy call at the Office of the Mayor last June 29, 2015.

The NHTS-PR is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. The system makes available to national government agencies and other social protection stakeholders a database of poor households as reference in identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs.

LGU-PAVIA conducts flag-raising activitiy for 117th Independence Day

As the nation celebrates its 117th Independence Day, the Local Government of Pavia conducted flag-raising ceremony as part of its efforts to observe the historic occasion.

President Benigno S. Aquino III led the flag-raising ceremony with other officials at Santa Barbara, Iloilo City with the theme “Kalayaan 2015: Tagumpay sa Pagbabagong Nasimulan, Abot-Kamay na ng Bayan”.
