GENERAL FEATURES
Ungka II is one of the eighteen barangays of the Pavia. In late 1800’s, the whole of Pavia was part of Sta. Barbara and later attached to Jaro. During this period, there was only one Barangay Ungka.
In 1921, Pavia became an independent municipality and Ungka was divided into Ungka I and Ungka II.
Ungka II is the first barangay of Pavia coming from Jaro, District of Iloilo City. It is bounded on the south by two barangays of Jaro – Sambag and Ungka. Three other barangays of Pavia bound it in its North, East and West namely: Ungka I, Anilao and Pandac.
Ungka II has been rapidly increasing in population due to migration. Immigrants are attracted to reside in the barangay because of its nearness and accessibility to Iloilo City.
