Barangay Profile
Barangay Purok II is a barangay within the Poblacion of the town of Pavia. The barangay lies at the most central part of the poblacion. Purok I bound it in the northeast side’ on the southeast by Purok III; on the southwest by Purok IV and on the west by Mali-ao creek and Barangay Mali-ao.
It is in Purok II, where the Pavia Public Market lies which is the center of trade and commerce in the community. It has a complete line of merchandise for the needs of the people. All days are market days in the Pavia Public Market, with Sundays and Wednesdays as the official market days.
It is here in Barangay Purok II, where the famous Sta. Monica Parish Church that was established by the Spaniards in 1888 for the Roman Catholic faithful stands.
Barangay Purok II is endowed with many good facilities for the convenience of its inhabitants. It has concrete roads, provided with electrical power by ILECO I, its residents water needs is principally provided by MIWD, communication facilities are provided by PLDT, Globe Telecom, Sun Cellular and Smart Communications, while cable TV services are provided by Sky Cable TV.
The barangay continues to undertake projects that are funded by Community Development Fund of lawmakers, and general fund of the barangay. It has its newly constructed barangay hall that is conspicuously located at the corner of Leocadio and Maquiling Streets.
