GENERAL FEATURES
Barangay Purok I is .25 kilometers away from the Poblacion. It has a total land area of 20.10 hectares with a population of 1,405 and 317 households. On the north east of the barangay are Cabugao Norte and Barangay Tigum, which are separated by Tigum River, Purok II on the west and Purok III on the south.
Purok I is divided into 4 zones namely: Texas, New York, Las vegas and Bermuda. Most of the residents depends on the water service of MIWD and other uses water pumps. ILECO I is the electrical power supplier, communication serviced by PLDT and Globelines and most of the residents use cellphones.
The main production of the barangay are mainly vegetables, root crops and small scale industries such as pinasugbo and peanut butter making.
The number of professionals in the barangay are as follows: Commerce 34, Computer Science 5, Mass Com 5, Teachers 28, Seaman 22, Engineers 8, Nurses 10, Chemist 3, Agriculture 3, Doctor 3, Criminologist 5, Medical Technologist 2, Architect 1 and Psychologist 1.
Purok I has various education facilities: Pavia Pilot Elementary School and the Pavia National High School, fall under the jurisdiction of the barangay.
Barangay Purok I has an approximate concrete road of 3 kilometers barangay road.
The Barangay Hall of Purok I, which is considered as the biggest and most comfortable Barangay Hall in the eighteen barangays of Pavia was built under the administration of Brgy. Captain Opiniano Hismaña in the year 1988. It has divisions intended for SK, Day Care, Session Hall and Mini-Library.
