Cabugao Norte

General Features

Cabugao Norte has a land area of 274.98 hectares. It is located at the northeast portion of the municipality, bounded on the north by Cabugao Norte, Sta. Barbara, on the east by the Municipality of Leganes, on the south by Barangay Tigum and on the west by Barangay Cabugao Sur. It is three kilometers north of the municipality and accessible through the provincial road passing Barangay Tigum leading to Barangay Cabugao Norte, Sta. Barbara.

The topography of Cabugao Norte is mostly plain with low elevation along the bank of the river. The barangay is located in between the river and irrigation canals. The types of soil in the barangay is clay to clay loam at the rice lands and sandy along the riverbanks. For its water resources, the rice fields of the barangay is irrigated by the Sta. Barbara Irrigation System and the Tigum River, which usually overflow annually, providing rich soil along the riverbank suited for auxilliary crops.

Based on the 2006 Integrated Rural Activity Plan Survey, the barangay has a total population of 2,260 with 454 households.

Farming had ever since been the main occupation of the barangay residents and rice being the main product due to the presence of an irrigation system traversing the barangay from north to south. Auxilliary crops are also produced by the barangay.
