Anilao

GENERAL FEATURES

Barangay Anilao is one of the 18 barangays of the Municipality of Pavia. The total land area is 119.7636 hectares. It has a budget of Php 1,223,312.00 for the year 2010.

The barangay is in the east portion of the poblcaion of Pavia. Its borders are defined as follows; Purok III, Ungka I, Pagsanga-an, and Tigum.

It is one kilometer away from the poblacion. It serves as an alternative road from the northern portion of the Province of Iloilo to the City Proper.

The topography of the barangay is totally flat and plain with no coastal area. It is bounded by Tigum River and Aganan River.

Demography

Barangay Anilao has a total population of 2,112 as of year 2008 based on the survey conducted by the Barangay Service Point Officer.

Economic Resources

The main agricultural crops of the barangay are corn, eggplant, tomatoes, squash, coconuts, santol, chico, mangoes, and avocados.

Livestock and poultry include carabaos, cows, pigs, goats, chickens, turkeys and fighting cocks.

Barangay Anilao is zoned as a residential area. As of 2007, there are three subdivisions in the barangay. These are the Central Philippine University Heritageville Subdivision, Villa Juanita Subdivision and Victoria Homes Subdivision.

-Sari-sari Store
-Barber Shop
-Baye-baye Factory

Barangay Anilao is also the site of three cemeteries of the municipality.

Social Services
Barangay Anilao has one Day Care Center and one Health Center.

Infrastructures and Utilities

The barangay has a total road network of two kilometers, composed of 1.5 km National Road, 0.5 km. Barangay Road and a component bridge of 100 lineal meters.

The barangay maintains the following projects/ facilities: footwalks, streetlights, waiting sheds, landmarks, barangay hall, tanod outpost, drainage system, Day care Center and Health Center.

Power is supplied by ILECO I and telephone lines are extended by PLDT and Globelines covering  the whole barangay. The populace also utilizes several cellphone units.

Potable water is made available through MIWD covering zones I and II. Other sources of potable water are deep wells and shallow wells.
