Amparo

History & Legend

The name of the barangay is believed to have originated from a beautiful lad named Amparo who used to be invited and serenaded by men of the barangay. She was so beautiful that almost all people in the barangay would say “let’s go to the house of Amparo”. Her name became the by-word of not only men but by all barangay folks. The barangay then became famous of Amparo – that’s why the barangay was named after her.

Barangay Amparo was once a sitio or part of Barangay Pal-agon. It became an independent barangay thru the settlement of Barrio Officials, Municipal Officials and the residents of the barangay in 1964.
